In Spring 2006, I made a long awaited trip to Sierra Leone, West Africa, the birth land of my father. It was an inspirational trip that caused me to want to share my experience with the world. As a DJ and musician, music is one way that I can do that. I created this CD to help expose what's going on in Sierra Leone right now, rebuilding of a nation, and the establishement of a modern democratic society. Part of that process includes youth expression and that's what this tape represents. I want to expose something beyond the headlines, beyond diamonds, and help the diverse economical potentials of tourism, music, film and the people of such a beautiful country flourish. These are the real gems of the nation, the people, and every song on this tape represents some feeling or expression that I felt on my trip that I recieved from those folks. From R Kelly's reggaeton infused dance song, the one I heard the most on the streets in Freetown, to the superstar Daddy Saj's Corruption, each song is either a statement or a memory. Please enjoy this CD and spread the world about Salone music. The more people know about Sierra Leone, the more we can help make a Sweet Salone!
